Episode 10
Bee uncovers a perfect painting and JJ restores some handmade sailing boats to help a couple who have overcome illness and are ready to celebrate a golden anniversary in style.
JJ and Bee are making their way through South Lanarkshire, just outside Glasgow, to lend a hand to high school sweethearts Ronnie and Laura, who are long overdue for a clear-out.
With the best of intentions to tackle the mountain of belongings in their house, life had other plans when retired carpet designer Ronnie was struck down with a life-altering illness. To cope with the gruelling treatment, Ronnie turned to art and defied the odds to get the all-clear. Now, with JJ and Bee's help, they're ready to finally kick-start the clear-out, making space for Ronnie's art ambitions.
As their golden wedding anniversary approaches, the couple hope that any money raised will contribute towards a family cruise, allowing them to celebrate together.
Auctioneer Bee Harford uncovers some wonderful Melba-ware pottery, plenty of jewellery and some wartime memorabilia. She also discovers some fantastic artwork, including a very special piece that's a jewel in Ronnie's collection, but Laura's keen to let go – the question is, will it stay or will it go?
Meanwhile, JJ restores some long-forgotten sailing boats, hand-built by Ronnie's grandfather. He also cleans up some stained glass and takes on the challenge of restoring a rocking chair close to Laura's heart – the question is, has he bitten off more than he can chew with such a time-consuming renovation?
On auction day, Bee rallies the bidders, and they get excited over some of the jewellery. Ronnie's beloved art pieces cause quite a stir in the bidding room.
