Episode 13
Auctioneer JB and restorer Lauren head to Lancashire to help a man sell his antiques collection, which is overwhelming his stepson’s home. Will it fund a family cruise ship holiday?
Michael's life took an unexpected turn when his wife Jan started losing her sight due to a rare eye condition. As they adjusted to their new reality, they decided to downsize to a more accessible home. However, Michael's prized antique collection posed a significant problem – their new home lacked the space to accommodate it all.
As a temporary measure, much of the collection ended up in the home of Jan's son, but now his loft and garage are full. Michael has decided the time has come to part with the items he has taken decades to collect, so he has called in the Travelling Auctioneers to help. After a tough few years, the family would love a holiday – but how much will the funds made at auction contribute towards getting them onto a cruise ship?
Auctioneer JB has just a day to uncover the items worthy of taking to auction, while restorer Lauren must restore worn pieces so they’re ready to go under the hammer. JB is convinced that a milliner's hat block with ties to the region's history will attract high bids, as well as a selection of music-themed lots. Lauren gives sympathetic restoration to a unique chair and revives an old artist's easel.
