Episode 12
Izzie unearths Victorian jewellery and vintage toys, while JJ revives a gramophone. But can they raise enough money to send a foster carer and a postman on a well-deserved holiday?
Foster carer Tania and retired postman David got together later in life, and their home became overwhelmed with all their belongings. However, when Tania's mum became unwell and ended up in a care home, her possessions also ended up in their house. The couple have decided a clear-out is long overdue, and they plan to spend any money made at auction on Tania's mum to make her life as comfortable as possible.
In a house crammed with an eclectic mix of items, auctioneer Izzie Balmer finds an art nouveau ink stand, a gorgeous jewellery box and a stunning enamel compact. But it's the items she finds stuffed in a plastic bag at the back of a cupboard that stand to make the most cash at auction.
Meanwhile, JJ brings new life to a pair of rusty garden tables. He also takes a risk and polishes some tarnished silver, hoping Izzie will be happy with his work.
On auction day, Izzie is on song as she finds a gramophone a new home, hits the high notes with bids on the Victorian jewellery and hopes JJ's gamble on the polished silver pays off. Will it be music to Tania and David's ears?
