Born in Mississippi on 16th September 1915, B.B. King taught himself how to play guitar before moving to Memphis to live with his cousin Bukka White. He worked as a successful radio host playing R&B whilst recording his own material, which is where he earned the nick name Blues Boy King. B.B King became one of the most important names in R&B music in the 1950s, amassing an impressive list of hits. The winner of 15 Grammy Awards, including being presented a Lifetime Achievement award in 1987, B.B. King recorded 43 studio albums, 16 live albums, 20 compilation albums and 138 singles during his career.
