Grounding is a series which celebrates the unique perspectives and creativity of neurodivergent artists. Across the series they explore how neurodivergence shapes their relationship with music and highlight the songs that hold personal significance. Composer, producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Emma-Jean Thackray opens up about ADHD, OCD and autism, and how music helps her navigate the noisy, overwhelming landscape of intrusive thoughts. Alongside deeply personal reflections, Emma-Jean shares the tracks that have supported and inspired her from Warpaint, a source of solace in recovery, to the spiritual explorations of Pharoah Sanders, and her own album Weirdo finishing with a 20-minute calming mix to close the show.
