BlindboyBoatclub shares the ways he escapes.

BlindboyBoatclub reflects on his experiences of autism and the ways he escapes through masking. With tracks from Al Green and Sinéad O'Connor finishing with a 20-minute calming mix.

Grounding is a series which celebrates the unique perspectives and creativity of neurodivergent artists. Across the series they explore how neurodiversity shapes their relationship with music and highlight the songs that hold personal significance.

Musician, author, and podcaster Blindboy Boatclub reflects on his experiences of autism and the ways he escapes through masking — the persona neurodivergent people create and deploy in social situations, and the stress it brings. He is candid about the discomfort of small talk, eye contact, and reading tone of voice, sharing the pressure these interactions create. In an honest reflection, Blindboy curates a selection of music, including tracks from Al Green and Sinéad O'Connor finishing with a 20-minute mix to close the show.
