Oswestry 24

A four-metre-high gorilla made out of 40,000 spoons and a massive millipede with golf clubs for legs! Caroline visits a sculpture park where nothing goes to waste.

Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! More like lions, elephants and hippos as Caroline Hawley goes on safari – in Shropshire! At a 70-acre sculpture park, she sees all sorts of wildlife made from scrap metal in the company of founder and creator Clive Knowles. The park boasts more than 3,000 sculptures, including two huge gorillas and a massive millipede wrapped around an old van – with golf clubs for legs!

Hot-footing it around the fair in nearby Oswestry are two family teams. On the red team are dad and daughter Chris and Kayla with their expert Lesley Kiddell-Spencer. Hoping to bag better bargains are their opponents, mum and daughter Jane and Kate, who are big Everton fans – just as well they’re in blue! With Colin Young by their side, they start their shop by looking at a colourful Imari pattern bowl, but Colin’s not 'pot-tery' about it! Meanwhile, Chris likes a large terracotta fish until he sees the price tag – so they throw it back.

Can the teams hook the bidders at the auction in Stockport, where Tom Blackmore will be wielding the gavel? Lesley hopes her bonus buy will fly away, while Colin has something for his team to chew over.
