Mozart's Symphony No. 38 from Switzerland and highlights from this years' Bath Mozartfest
Exclusive music-making including Mozart's Symphony No. 38 from Switzerland and highlights from this years' Bath Mozartfest
Fiona Talkington brings you an afternoon of exclusive music-making including a spotlight on compositions by Mozart and we will hear performances by the Nash Ensemble from this years' Bath Mozartfest.
Throughout the week, Classical Live is featuring specially recorded performances of music by Mozart. Today, Symphony No. 38 in D, K. 504 ('Prague') and Serenata notturna is performed by the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra and conductor Ton Koopman. Plus, pianist Elisabeth Brauss performs Mozart's introspective Rondo in A minor.
There is also a spotlight on this years' Bath Mozartfest. Celebrating its 35th year, the festival is a feast of fine classical music and showcases artistic excellence. The Nash Ensemble perform two works - Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending for violin & piano and Mendelssohn's String Octet in E flat major Op. 20.
