The Black Swan

After a decade of a life built on lies, crime and fraud, Danish lawyer Amira Smajic teams up with investigative journalists to set up corrupt clients in front of hidden cameras.

The Black Swan was first broadcast in Denmark in May 2024 and quickly became one of the most watched television programmes in Danish history.

After over a decade living a life built on lies, crime and fraud, Danish corporate lawyer Amira Smajic wants out. Once a trusted advisor to notorious gangs, she teams up with film-maker Mads Brugger and investigative journalists to reopen her old consultancy, now wired with hidden cameras. Over six months, the office becomes a hub for hardcore criminals, businessmen and lawyers.

The revelations in the series shattered Denmark’s view of itself as the standard-bearer for modern democracy and brought about legal change.
