This week Charlie shares some of his favourite musical gems from artists who have not always received the critical support they deserve.

British singer Rhett Brewer sings in his own language on a track from the Hotel de Ville album. Bach’s Cello suites are rearranged by Japanese saxophonist Yasuaki Shimizu. Fans of Portuguese fado music are in for a treat as Charlie plays a song from Lula Pena’s album Phados. An all star cast of musicians from Egypt come together on the Salam Delta album which features the vocals of Selma, a popular performer at Nubian weddings in Cairo.

Charlie also plays Semana Azul by the Czech singer Marta Topferova who is based in the United States but writes and performs her songs in Spanish. And we finish with a collaboration between Siberian singer Stepanida and the German Hulu project from the TranceSiberia album.
