In the second programme from Turkey, Charlie Gillett examines the traditional and acoustic music that can be heard in Istanbul.
He focuses on the Kalan Muzik label that records traditional and ethnic musicians from across all regions of Turkey.
Although the label was initially opposed by the government for focusing on ethnic music, including Kurdish folk tunes, in recent years it has been celebrated for its efforts to rescue and document the cultural diversity of Turkish music.
This programme will feature Sevval Sam and the amazing voice of Kurdish singer Aynur who will perform two exclusive tracks for Charlie Gillett recorded in Istanbul.
