In St Kilda's heyday back in the 19th century there was a perhaps surprising amount of livestock: something like 20 horses, 90 cattle and over 2,000 sheep. Well the sheep are still here and running wild though let's face it they are fairly docile. If you're thinking they don't really look like sheep, they're more like little mountain goats. They do have a claim to fame - they are the oldest domesticated sheep in Europe. They don't baa much...
