One of the things that St. Kilda is justly famous for is its absolutely enormous colonies of puffins. So how come Bill Oddie has been wandering round the island for a couple of days and hasn't seen a single one? Where are they? Take a look out to sea with a telescope and all is revealed - there they are, on the water, to Bill's dismay. Only a couple of days earlier Bill swore he'd never go back on a boat. But it's just a short trip to where the puffins can be seen close up. We're so used to seeing puffins posing, it's rather nice to see them in what is in fact their element. But on the cliffs or on the water, puffins are undeniably cute.
