Reindeer are perfectly adapted for surviving the cold. Their winter coats have two layers of fur – a woolly undercoat - and then longer hair on top that are hollow and filled with air which helps keep them warm.

Their main food in the winter is moss and lichens and they have to dig holes through the snow to reach them.
