The Singing Bird: Joseph Tomelty
Tinkers Phil and Aneas travel the roads together, but Aneas is troubled by voices in his head including that of his late wife singing a song called The Singing Bird.
Originally a radio play written by Joseph Tomelty. Tinkers Phil and Aneas travel the roads together but Aneas is troubled by voices singing in his head, including that of his late wife Nancy. At one of their overnight stops they offer to help the local canon shoot a hawk which has been killing off the local bird population. But when the hawk is shot Aneas becomes very upset because he believes he's shot a thrush instead. Phil feels the time has come to take Aneas to the doctor in Downpatrick to get him help in banishing the voices from his head.
