                Experiences of Scottish emigrants in North America
As industry and the cities of Canada expanded, the choice of work available increased. Domestic service, retail, finance, education, construction and manufacturing were all areas to which Scots contributed. As Canada expanded its western frontier, adverts were shown in Scottish cinemas inviting people to emigrate there.
