Nottingham’s first Muslim food bank opens
The number of food banks in the UK had almost doubled at the end of last year but local charity, Himmah, has predicted that the need for support is only going to get worse.
In order to give back to the local community, Himmah - an organisation founded by local mosques, has opened the first Muslim food bank in Hyson Green. The charity’s main aim is to provide families from all backgrounds with tinned produce in times of need and emergencies.
