There are 800,000 people living with dementia in the UK.

Jenny Hill has been to Bruges in Belgium to look at how their society copes with the challenges of caring.

The city is recognised for its positive attitudes and schemes such as training shop traders to assist those in the early stages of dementia and the dementia choir which helps those with memory loss.

Specialist dementia counsellors are also available and Jenny talks with Professor Murna Downs from Bradford University about how communities in the UK can learn lessons from Bruges.
