I was 'glad' family told me dad took his own life
Comedian Michael McIntyre was told his father killed himself, after 17 years of believing he died of a heart attack.
In his father's suicide note, McIntyre's stepmother was asked to keep the circumstances of his death in 1993 secret.
However she was forced to reveal the truth - that he had shot himself - after the comic considered letting ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ show Who Do You Think You Are? look into his history in 2010.
Rosie Ellis, 30, who was 16 when her dad took his own life, said it was "a shock to experience something like that" as a teenager.
However, she said she was "glad" her family were "open and honest" about his death, as it allowed her to seek help and come to terms with the situation.
