Video banking to be introduced by Barclays
They're the first of the big UK high street banks to announce that it's customers will soon be able to access all their banking services with a decent videocam connection on their laptop or on their smart phone, but others could soon follow. Barclays say this is what their customers want, but critics aren't so sure.
Stephen Cooper, CE of Personal Banking at Barclays said: ‘This is about giving customers choice… some people feel more trusting about having an open conversation’.
‘40% of all loans we provide is done on mobile phones now’.
‘We will put branches where the demand is… we have closed 40… it is about being efficient’.
