Mother of murdered son: 'I tried to warn the police'
The mother of a 14-year-old boy who was murdered by a man he met through online gaming has said her son's life has been "brutally cut short" by a "vile menace to society".
Breck Bednar was stabbed to death by 19 year-old Lewis Daynes in February of last year, at Daynes' flat in Essex.
Breck's mother Lorin Le Fave said "this could happen to anyone".
She said "I had a great relationship with Breck, he told me everything about Daynes and I tried to warn the police".
Daynes has been given a life sentence and will spend a minimum of twenty five years in jail.
