Thierry's Handball... (not that one)

Meet the French Thierry famous for handling the ball. Clue: he never played for Arsenal.

You might be surprised to learn that the most famous Thierry involved with a hand ball is not Thierry Henry. It is in fact Thierry Omeyer. The French handball goalkeeper has been telling us about how the sport is poised to grow as big as rugby, and maybe even football, in France and other parts of Europe. The World Handball Championships are currently taking place in Qatar, and France are looking to retain their World champion status to add to the European and Olympic titles they have already retained in the last two years.

In Court

Walsh is behind a prison rehabilitation programme in his native Jamaica that aims to not only provide a coaching program to support grassroots cricket, but to also give former prisoners a second chance through sport.

AFCON Rap

Johanas also played for the club and they are preparing to play for the first time at their new ground.

It’s All About That Bet
What role has the gambling industry played in making English clubs so wealthy? We analyse some of the less obvious reasons for the success of English clubs in the latest Football Rich List and ask whether it is sustainable.

Sporting Witness
In 1988, two figure skaters, Brian Boitano of the USA and Brian Orser of Canada, fought out one of the closest finals in Winter Olympics history. After 10 years of rivalry their fates were decided on the last dance of the programme - performed in front of a fiercely partisan Canadian home crowd.
