Sisters reunite 42 years later through radio show
The last time Surjit Nanda saw her 13 year old sister she was heading away on a short holiday to India from their home in the UK. When Surjit returned, she learnt her younger sister had run away from home. Decades later, Surjit travelled to Ireland in the belief that her sister may have moved there. It was in Dublin, a taxi driver suggested she ring popular radio show Liveline on the national broadcaster RTE. Liveline presenter Joe Duffy explains what happened:
