Melton Market
The 16th ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Food and Farming awards were launched on Sunday and nominations are open until the Sunday after next. Now, up and down the country, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local Radio Stations are encouraging you to nominate your best local food market, it might be a monthly farmers market, or a daily market like the one in the centre of Leicester which was nominated for last year's awards, or it could be like the one in Melton.
Melton farmers market has been going on for over a thousand years and as far as anyone can remember it's been on a Tuesday. It sells just about everything you can think of, but it's great strength is the food it deals in whether that's still on the hoof or in a handmade pie.
Ben Jackson popped out there along with our Food Friday cook Hazel Paterson who lives in Melton.
