Hunt: Imposing doctor contract ‘a last resort’
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt says that the government will impose the new contract on striking junior doctors as a last resort.
“I hope it doesn’t come to that,” he told the Today programme.
Mr Hunt said that the NHS was “busting a gut” to make sure every A&E department is able to function if junior doctors withhold emergency care as planned in a forthcoming strike.
