Kinnock attacks ministers over steel

More than 1,000 jobs are to go at Tata Steel plants, mostly in south Wales.
Labour MP Stephen Kinnock, whose constituency includes the steel plant in Port Talbot, told the Daily Politics a crisis in the industry had been “brewing” for some time.
He accused the government of being “asleep at the wheel” over the issues of Chinese dumping of cheap steel and “crippling” energy costs. Mr Kinnock said the impact of the job losses on the local area would be huge, describing the plant as “the beating heart of our community and our economy”.
