Shearer: Newcastle were 'disrespectful' to McClaren

Former Newcastle United centre forward Alan Shearer says sacked boss Steve McClaren was unfairly treated by the club.

Shearer said dismissing McClaren on Friday, six days after Newcastle's disappointing 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth, was "unprofessional" of the club.

He told 5 live's George Riley that the appointment of Rafa Benitez gives the relegation-threatened side hope.
