Rob Elliot: I'm trying to see positives in my injury
Newcastle and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Rob Elliot says he is trying to see the positives, despite being told he will miss Euro 2016 after being ruled out for a "number of months".
Elliot, 29, suffered a serious knee injury during the Republic's 2-2 friendly draw with Slovakia on Tuesday.
"I don't think it's quite sunk in yet, but hopefully it's not too complicated," he told George Riley on 5 live Sport.
"Six or seven months ago I wouldn't have been close to Premier League football or the Euros, so you have to take the positives."
