The managing director of custodial and detention services at G4S has addressed criticisms of the way the company managed Medway Secure Training Centre for young offenders.

Jerry Petherick told The World at One's Shaun Ley the centre had experienced "an acute period of disruption" but that the company should have done things better or "in a different way".

Police investigating allegations of assault made in a 蜜芽传媒 Panorama programme earlier this year have made 12 arrests so far.
