The Conservative MP for Plymouth Moor View, Johnny Mercer acknowledges that his government has made mistakes in the last year.

Mr Mercer was in the British army for 12 years and served as a captain, completing three tours of Afghanistan. The year before the last election he decided to leave the military and pursue a career in politics.

Martha Kearney spoke to him about his political baptism by fire.
