Young people are the most apathetic generation since surveys began and the "least alienated", according to a new book.

Philip Cowley and Rob Ford, authors of "More Sex Lies and the Ballot Box", challenge the conventional wisdom about young people, that they are simply alienated by the way the British political system works.

Indeed, most young people say the political system is "broadly able to represent their views", unlike older generations.
