Belvoir Castle Gardens
This year has seen the commemoration of the three hundredth year since the birth of the great landscape gardener, Lancelot Capability Brown. His extraordinary work distilled the very essence of what makes the English countryside quite so beautiful. Lots of things have been happening to mark the event, but arguably none so remarkable as the completion of one of his very final designs, the design that he wanted to be his legacy, that he would be remembered by.
The gardens were laid out at Belvoir Castle and for a period of time were largely forgotten, but not anymore. Ben Jackson caught up with Emma, The Duchess of Rutland a few days ago.
