Social care 'simply not funded adequately'
NHS trusts say it is "very disappointing" not to see extra funding for social care in the Autumn Statement.
Siva Anandaciva, from umbrella group NHS Providers, says services are "simply not funded adequately to do the job" they have been asked to do.
Even with additional money that local councils can raise, he says funding is not keeping pace with demand, causing severe problems with backlogs of patients, particularly in hospitals.
