In 2014, the people of Micklehurst in Manchester were confronted with a Christmas tree which was so short that it was declared Britain's worst one. The Mayor of Mossley Gregg Brett told 5 live Drive there was 鈥渦proar in the community鈥� over the five foot tall tree, which was named 鈥楾erry.鈥�

鈥淓veryone couldn鈥檛 believe it, it was a disgrace.鈥�

The residents then took matters into their own hands, putting up their own tree and having a 鈥榬ogue switch on.鈥�

It comes after Cardiff鈥檚 Christmas tree, which was on its way from China, measured 40 foot tall rather than the 40 metres (131 ft) that was expected.
