Rail strikes 'caused unbelievable hardship'
Sir Nicholas Soames told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 4's The Westminster Hour that the government should consider introducing new legislation to restrict strikes on the rail system.
The Conservative MP – whose Mid Sussex constituents have been affected by the strikes on Southern trains – said “what has happened on the Brighton line is absolutely appalling...jobs ruined, lives ruined".
However, he cautioned a longer term plan of action and not one made "in the heat of combat."
