Clean Bandit, with their song 鈥楻ockabye鈥�, have been announced as the official Christmas number 1 for 2016. Jack Patterson, from the band, spoke on 5 live:
鈥淚t鈥檚 a big shock, we鈥檙e all very very happy鈥�
When asked about his dad betting a pound on Clean Bandit reaching number 1, he continued:
鈥淵eah he did, and my mum even had a go at him for that! She said it was a waste of a quid!鈥�
Clean Bandit formed in 2008, when they met at the University of Cambridge. In 2015 they won a Grammy award for Best Dance Record with 鈥楻ather Be鈥�.
