"If you went through 1992, you're cautious"
Diane Abbott issues a warning to Shadow BEIS Secretary Rebecca Long Bailey.
In a discussion about Miss Long Bailey's suggestion that people would be happy to pay more tax if they knew it would directly fund the NHS, the Shadow ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Secretary pointed out that "those of us who remember the 1992 campaign ... are cautious about the question of putting up tax."
When asked whether the Shadow BEIS Sceretary needed more experience, Ms Abbott noted that while all options should be considered it was important that "we... draw on our historic memory."
