Tax rise is a 'kick in the teeth' for self employed people
Philip Hammond has announced in his first budget that self-employed people will face a 2% rise in their National Insurance contributions.
Peter Dowd is a Labour MP and the Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury. Mr Dowd told Martha Kearney that the government had their priorities "absolutely wrong" because they were raising taxes for the self-employed whilst making "huge corporation tax cuts".
