No EU trade deal 'not the best way'
Former director general of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Pascal Lamy has said the UK government's suggestion that leaving the EU with no trade deal is better than a bad deal, is "not the best way" to start negotiations.
The former EU trade commissioner told Martha Kearney if the UK were to use WTO rules instead of a bilateral free trade agreement, trade would be "less open and then more costly".
