Coast to Coast walk: No more 'slipping and sliding'

Enthusiastic walkers will know all about Alfred Wainwrights' 190 mile-long Coast to Coast path which runs from St Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire.

The route is much loved but according to Emma Taylor from the North Pennines Peatland programme, some parts of the route have been described as "being like the Somme".

Arthur Littlefair from the Kirkby Stephen Mountain rescue team recalls a walker getting stuck in the bog who had to be dug out by hand.

As Caz Graham reports, since no public money was available to pay for a new path, a crowdfunding scheme was launched.
