Vatican Bank taken off Italian 'blacklist'

The Vatican Bank has sometimes been called God's bank - because it is owned by the Roman Catholic Church. Which makes it all the more surprising perhaps that for years it has been on a blacklist by the authorities in neighbouring Italy. The Vatican is the worldwide headquarters of the Roman Catholic church. Geographically it is inside the Italian capital, Rome - but officially, it's a separate country, subject to its own law. Since Pope Francis took over - there have been big efforts to clean up the Vatican Bank. And now the Italian authorities have removed it from their blacklist. Alex Ritson asked the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Rome correspondent, David Willey, what was going on? Picture: Pope Francis. Photo by Franco Origlia/Getty Images.
