Ex health minister Alistair Burt said that funding social care in the UK is a "short, medium & long-term problem".

Speaking to The World at One the MP, who had responsibility for the system between 2015 and 2016, said he is "interested in" some form of extra social insurance but would also consider other ways of bringing "new flexibility into the system".
