How literature can help combat homophobia in football
It's six years since footballer Anton Hysen came out as gay. In doing so he hoped other men in the game would come forward... They haven't.
So perhaps the answer to making young gay footballers feel comfortable enough to announce their sexuality doesn't lie within the locker room, but within literature?
David Kerby-Kendall has written 'The Rainbow Player', about an England footballer who has a gay relationship.
