Treasury minister: 'We don't need to raise taxes'
The Conservative chief secretary to the Treasury, has refused to "promise" not to raise taxes, if his party wins the general election, adding, "there is no need to".
Speaking on the the World at One, David Gauke dismissed that idea that because there has been no guarantee in this campaign that taxes would not be raised, the public would be right to conclude that increases have not been ruled out.
