Brazil to allow mining in nature reserve
The reserve of 46,000 square kilometres, is home to some of Brazil's indigenous people - but the land is rich in gold and other minerals. For the past 30 years, mining in the reserve has been restricted to state mining companies. The Brazilian government has issued a decree that allows private mining projects - and that's worried many environmental groups.
