Robot teachers will 'transform education'
Will robots will begin to replace teachers in the classroom?
Sir Anthony Seldon, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buckingham, predicts that within the next ten years intelligent machines will render traditional academic teaching all but redundant.
Professor Tony Prescott of Sheffield Robotics creates teacher robots. He told Radio 4's World at One that one advantage of a robot teacher is that "it can tell how well your child is learning, and where is it having problems", something that you don't get with human teachers "unless you're on a one to one situation which is probably not realistic".
