The Village Voice: The end of an era
The Village Voice newspaper, which for decades set the agenda for the cultural calendar of the city's underground music and arts scene, hit the newsstands for the last time today.
The owners of the iconic paper have decided that from now it will only be available online.
Alisa Solomon worked for the paper from 1983 until 2004 and for the The World at One she recalled some of her favourite memories of the paper, including an early profile of a young businessman called Donald Trump.
