'The victims have been listened to'
Sir Edward Heath would have been questioned over sex abuse claims if he was alive when they came to light, police have said.
Wiltshire Police launched Operation Conifer in 2015 when the former Prime Minister was accused of historical child sex abuse.
Friends and family of Sir Edward have called for an independent review, which they said would find the allegations to be "groundless".
Angus MacPherson, the police and crime commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon told Radio 4's World at One that "it is the victims that we should think about in all this, as well as the reputation of Sir Edward".
