NFU: We need to be 'self sufficient to feed a nation'
Plans for farming subsidies after Brexit have been set out by the environment secretary.
Michael Gove told farmers the government would guarantee subsidies at the current EU level until the 2022 election.
Minette Batters, from the National Farmers Union told Radio 4's World at One that they welcomed the plans for a national food policy, adding "it is time to learn lessons from the past, about having a good level of self-sufficiency and being able to feed a nation".
