Alan Milburn: 'Justine championed social mobility'
Alan Milburn, former chair of the government's Social Mobility Commission, has described the departure of education minister Justine Greening as "a loss as far as the social mobility cause is concerned".
The former Labour cabinet minister told Radio 4's World at One that Ms Greening had introduced initiatives to improve educational standards and life chances for people living in areas which the Prime Minister had identified as 'being left behind'.
He said: "She was making a difference, her departure will leave a big gap".
